Hawk Renovations carried out renovations to our Albury home that blossomed from basic modifications to bring it into line with NDIS guidelines for disabled occupants to a complete overhaul. The timber-framed dwelling was relocated from its original site at Tallangatta to Albury prior to the construction of the Hume Weir in the 1950's and exhibited all the quirks and unexpected difficulties and defects of a building from that era. The scope ultimately covered widening of all the internal doors, remodelling and fitout of the kitchen and bathroom, replacement of the external cladding, replacement of all light fittings, straightening of warped interior walls, a ramp from the street to the entrance porch and new gates. The changes in scope prolonged the construction period to over 5 months, due mainly to the increases in scope and finalisation of planning for the kitchen/bathroom modifications. External works were undertaken on a cost-plus basis, which is always attendant with risk and this proved the case with the external cladding which all had to be screwed into very tough hardwood. Christian and his team did a great job of the renovations, with the end result exceeding our expectations. We were kept well informed of progress and the need to respond to requests for information and the formalities of contract were fully addressed in a spirit of cooperation and professionalism. Christian himself was very helpful and courteous at all times, and will certainly have a better idea of what to expect when next he tackles a job like this one. We would recommend Hawk Renovations to anyone considering work of a similar nature.
